They recently received their official award posters and recognition letters from Achieve3000. An additional perk was the awarding of one license for student use. Breana Hernandez has passed over 100 articles and activities. She is the winner of the license. Mrs. Tuttle's class is so excited! Please congratulate her if you see her! She is very proud of her class, and looks forward to some major GAINS on this year's state tests.
Achieve3000 is a district-approved reading program that encourages students across grade levels to strengthen their non-fiction reading skills. Students are better prepared for state testing and, for that matter, their academic career by increasing the complexity and difficulty of their reading levels.
This year at Roosevelt, we have a very special Ram in need of prayers and support. His story can be found in the 'Announcements' section of the Roosevelt home page. It is this particular story that spurred a group of law enforcement to take matters into their own hands. Dinuba police officers would work together and exemplify the true spirit of civic servants.

Detective Baldo Deharo stumbled upon Alan Fereira’s story on a social media outlet connected to Roosevelt teacher Erin Montes. He took it upon himself to start a fundraiser at the Dinuba Police Department. The entire department was able to raise over $1,000 for Alan and his family.
A few of the officers came by Ms. Montes' class last week, and her students presented them with a “thank you” poster.
Thank-you so much Dinuba Police Department.
On December 16, the Jolly Trolley and its elves from the North Pole made their way around Dinuba visiting all the local elementary schools. The Choices and City Afterschool programs in conjunction with the Dinuba Chamber of Commerce were sponsoring the 'Stuff the Trolley' food drive.
Roosevelt families contributed 1,375 cans of food for this event. Wow, a big ram thank-you to all students and volunteers who participated. These much-needed supplies support the efforts of Open Gate Ministries here in Dinuba.
Mr. Rupe's and Mrs. Roberts' classrooms have been awarded 'Pizza-Feed' parties for collecting the most canned goods.
Over the weekend we had some talented little elves from the Roosevelt Girl's Club, led by Erin Montes, represent our school in the Dinuba Christmas Parade. A big Roosevelt 'thank-you' to all the participating elves, big and small, who brought their smiles and decorating skills for this uniquely LightBright event.

Megan Rupe, Roosevelt Ram alumnus, just completed her first official day behind the news desk at CBS47. Roosevelt staff and students are very proud of Megan's accomplishments in televised media. You may know her dad Mr. Rupe, who teaches 5th grade in Room 26. Not too long ago, they used to work together to produce videos on the importance of being a good student. In Megan's case, her love for reading and writing has taken her into the professional world of journalism.

She is truly a Ram role model.
